The 3 Stages in the Exam for SSC:

  • Tier I:

This is the first paper of the examination that includes multiple topics that can range from Reasoning to General Intelligence to English. The main reason behind this step is to check various elements at the same point of time.

  • Your aptitude will be examined thoroughly that would require little common sense and general knowledge.
  • Your catch on English language will be another thing that would be accessed.
  • The power of your reasoning using just logic is what they look for.

If you really are looking for a good government job, then you need to be very well prepared for this first step. The total marks would be 200 and you will be given 2 hours for one session.

  • Tier II:

This whole tier is very subjective and is held for two complete days. It includes three papers in total but you might have to sit for only two depending on which post you are applying for.

  • The first paper tests your ability in arithmetic. It would consist of 100 questions carrying two marks each and there is negative marking.
  • The second one is for English Language and a test on comprehension. This paper is compulsory for all and has 200 questions, carrying one mark each along with a negative marking for a wrong attempt.
  • The third paper is for Maths/Economics/Statistics/Commerce. The marking and number of questions is same as the first paper. The total time allotted for each paper is two hours only.
  • Interview Session:

This interview session is the last step in the whole procedure and will test your personality. the qualification for an interview is not a time to relax. You must be sharp and smart enough to impress the interviewers. The response during an interview need to be correct and direct as an interviewer not only tests your personality but even your maturity.

Skill Test for Data Entry Operator

The Skill test is very qualifying in nature. Candidates who secure the qualifying marks in the written exams set by the commission can only sit for this test. You qualify this test only if you manage to complete it at a mentioned speed on the computer which will be provided by the agency or the institution authorised to conduct such skill examinations. Now it is at the discretion of the commission to set the qualifying marks. In order to be eligible, the qualifying speed has to be more than 8000 key depressions in an hour. The eligibility for earning a recommendation for appointment is as per the position given in the merit list.
