A bit of history

A Commission termed as the Subordinate Services Commission was commissioned on 4 November 1975 by the Government of India. On 26 September 1977, Subordinate Services Commission renamed into Staff Selection Commission. Ever since its commission, the SSC has played a vital role in selecting candidates for the various posts in the Central Government by conducting exams, sometimes even more than once in a year.
