1) Subjects included

When it comes to subjects, you have to concentrate equally on Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. This is because each of these subjects has a total weightage of 25% in the AIPMT exam. The syllabus of AIPMT names the topics and chapters from both Class 11 and Class 12. But we will tell you the important topics to focus on from within these subjects as well.

(1) Physics

It is almost impossible to have a complete grasp on every topic in Physics. But maximum weightage should be given to the following topics:

  1. Magnetism
  2. Solids and semiconductor devices
  3. Electrostatics
  4. Current electricity
  5. Heat and Thermodynamics
  6. Motion in one dimension
  7. Wave motion
  8. Simple harmonic motion
  9. Atomic models
  10. Laws of motion

After you have concentrated on these topics, you can cover other topics if and when you have time.

(2) Chemistry

Remembering chemical formulas and equations can be hard. But the maximum weightage is generally given to the following topics:

  1. Organic chemistry basics
  2. Chemical bonding
  3. Coordination compounds
  4. Chemical thermodynamics
  5. Biomolecules
  6. S block elements
  7. D and f block elements
  8. P block elements
  9. Alcohol phenol ether

After you have completed these topics which have maximum weightage, you can then do redox reactions, chemical equilibrium and aldehyde ketone concepts if you have time.

When it comes to AIPMT, there is no doubt that you will have to concentrate a lot on biology. After all, you are aiming to be a doctor or a dentist. Here are the most important topics from Botany and Zoology that you should concentrate on:

  1. Genetics
  2. Cell and its concepts
  3. Chemical coordination
  4. Systematics
  5. Animal morphology
  6. Reproduction in plants and animals
  7. Animal tissues
  8. Monera

Most students often concentrate on ecology and biotechnology but these topics don’t have as many questions as the above mentioned topics. Now that you know which topics carry slightly more weightage than other topics, you can plan your preparation around this.
