AIPMT or All India Pre-Medical Test is an annual medical-college exam test in India conducted by CBSE for admission in MBBS and BDS courses. Once you crack the exam, the next step is Counselling. The counselling is held via 2 platforms:

  1. Online- Under 15 percent all India quota
  2. Offline- Under state participating university and 85 percent quota in DU.

1) Online Counselling :- It is conducted online by the Medical Council Committee on behalf of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHC) for seats under the 15 percent all India quota.

2) How to apply for online counselling?

A candidate has to register online at Conducting board will declare the registration date.

3) Offline Counselling :- The counselling session for seats under state participating university or colleges is through the application offline which is available at the particular college or university. As per their rules, a candidate is required to follow instructions and attend counselling.

4) Counselling for DU:- For the admission of the 85 percent seats quota through AIPMT, DU also conducts counselling. The application forms are available at the Faculty of Medical Science, DU. 

5) Documents required :- On the day of counselling, a candidate is required to bring the following documents (Original as well as attested):

  1. Admit card or AIPMT issued by CBSE.
  2. DOB certificate
  3. Rank issued by CBSE
  4. X and XII mark sheets
  5. X and XII Certificates
  6. Identity proof
  7. 2 Passport size photographs (same as the one used in the application form)


  1. SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates have to bring their certificates along, issued by the     competent authority.
  2. Original documents are a must.

There will be 3 rounds for seat allotment in Online Counselling. Every candidate will be given a college as per their rank, desire and seats availability.

6) Allotment letter

Each selected candidate gets an allotment letter within 7-8 days. It is of crucial importance to join within the given span or the admission can be cancelled.Once a candidate starts the process, he/she has to submit the original documents to the college authorities, which he/she gets back after completing the course.
