Different Pay Scales For The IAS Officers

The Pay Scales in the Government Services of India are not the exact salary. The amount only points toward the least amount and highest amount of the basic pay of an employee. After joining at a pay scale, you can expect to be promoted to total 4 pay scales as an IAS officer according to your service superiority. These 5 scales are known as Junior Scale, Senior Time Scale, Junior Administrative Grade, Selection Grade and Super Time Scale.

Salary As Per Scales:

1.    Junior Scale: Pay Band: Rs 15,600-39,100 plus Grade Pay Rs 5,400

2.    Senior Time Scale : Pay Band: Rs 15,600-39,100 plus Grade Pay Rs 6,600

3.    Junior Administrative Grade: Pay Band: Rs 15,600-39,100 plus Grade Pay Rs 7,600

4.    Selection Grade: Pay Band: Rs 37,400-67,000 plus Grade Pay Rs 8,700

5.    Super Time Scale : Pay Band: Rs 37,400-67,000 plus Grade Pay Rs 10,000

6.    Above Super Time Scale

•    Rs 37,400-67,000. Plus Grade Pay of Rs 12,000.

•    The Apex Pay Scale of Rs 80,000 (fixed). No Grade Pay.

•    Cabinet Secretary Grade of Rs 90,000 (fixed). No Grade Pay.

The Other Allowances

The above-mentioned amounts are the basic salaries of the IAS officers as per their scales and seniority. You may also get HRA or house rental allowances, which is 40% of Basic or official accommodation along with DA, which has amplified from 72% in 2012 to 107% of Basic Salary in 2015 and TA etc.

Salary Is Not Everything
